Children who were born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 are eligible to begin reception class at a primary or infant school in September 2026.
Children attending an infant school who were born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019 are scheduled to begin year three at junior school in September 2026. An application is still required even if your child attends a nursery linked to your preferred primary school, or the infant school linked to your preferred junior school.
Applications open on Monday 1 September 2025 and close at 11:59pm on Thursday 15 January 2026.
You must apply through the local authority which is responsible for administering the council tax for your home, even if you intend to name a school located in another area.
If you are applying for children of a multiple birth, a separate application is required for each child.
You do not need to complete an application if your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Instead contact your assessment coordinator to discuss your child’s school placement.
For a summary of the admission arrangements for all state-funded schools in the borough, please refer to the relevant school brochures provided below. Each brochure includes a link to the respective school's website, where the complete admission arrangements are published. It is your responsibility to read these arrangements thoroughly before submitting an application to understand the allocation process.
In your application, inform us if your child will have a sibling attending your preferred school(s) in September 2026. This will allow us to apply the correct priority. If relevant, ensure you understand the sibling link between infant and junior schools.
If your child was born in the summer (between April 1 and August 31), and you're considering delaying their entry into Reception until the term following their fifth birthday, refer to the linked brochures for information on how to make this request.
National Offer Day is on Thursday 16 April 2026. You will receive your outcome via email which the eAdmissions system sends in batches after 5 pm. If you applied online, you can also log in to your eAdmissions account after 5 pm to view your outcome and submit your response.

How parents can apply for their child to be admitted to our school
Our school is a community school, and it determines the admission arrangements in agreement with the Local Authority. The Admissions Authority for our school is therefore the LA which publishes its entry regulations every year.

The admissions team is operating a telephone callback service for enquiries from parents. Please email the admissions team email on: richmond.admissions@achievingforchildren.org.uk
SEND Admissions
Admissions of pupils with SEND are considered on the same basis as those without SEND. The School Admissions Code of Practice requires children and young people with SEN to be treated fairly. Admissions authorities:
-
must consider applications from parents who have SEN but do not have an EHC plan on the basis of the school's published criteria as part of normal procedures
-
must not refuse to admit a child who has SEN but does not have an EHC plan because they do nt feel able to cater for those needs
-
must not refuse to admit a child on the grounds that they do not have an EHC plan
The admission arrangments for pupils wihtout an EHCP must not discriminate agasint or disadvantage disabled children or those with special eductional needs and must follow the local authority achool admissions procedures. Please click on the link below for more information

Admission Appeals
If parents wish to appeal against a decision to refuse entry, they can do so by applying to the LA. An independent panel considers all such appeals, and its decision is binding for all parties concerned. The tables in the following link contain key dates in the schools admissions appeal process. More information can be found via the following link: Richmond Borough Appeals
The Standard Number
The ‘standard number’ is the number of children the LA considers the school can accommodate. The standard number for our school is 270. We keep this number under review, and the governors will apply to change the number if circumstances change.
Monitoring and Review
This policy will be monitored by the governing body and reviewed every two years, or earlier in the light of any changed circumstances, either in our school or in the local area. The policy will always take due note of guidance provided by the local Admissions Forum.
If you have any questions on the admissions process please contact the school office on 020 8979 2770.
